How You Can Give to the Good Shepherd Center

It Takes a Lot of Love to Mend a Broken Heart

The support of individuals and organizations is vital to building and maintaining quality treatment programs for the children in our care. Donors have many ways to offer financial support to Good Shepherd Center.

Cash Donations

Click Here to make a donation online right now. Whether once a month or once a year, unrestricted contributions give us the flexibility to use funds where the need is greatest. Why not observe a birthday, anniversary or some other milestone by making a Tribute or Memorial gift to Good Shepherd Center?

Give Through United Way

Good Shepherd Center (also known as the House of the Good Shepherd) is listed as agency #3444 for the United Way of Central Maryland, the Combined Charity Campaign, and the Maryland Charity Campaign.  We are listed as agency #75447 for the Combined Federal Campaign.

Of course, we realize that some donors like to support a specific program or service. Below are some special programs that need your support!  Click Here now to support any of these important programs.

Student Programs

From integrating technology into our classrooms, online classes for our students, to after school activities like horseback riding, Good Shepherd has many student programming needs.

Sr. Mary Eugenia Student Needs Fund

This fund covers needs for individual children such as eyeglasses for a child whose health insurance doesn’t cover eye care or a special article of clothing. This fund is named in honor of Sr. Mary Eugenia Larkin, or “Sister Pound Cakes” as she was affectionately called, because she baked and sold pound cakes in order to finance the purchase of needed clothing and personal items for children without family or agency resources.

Good Shepherd Courtyard Memorial Garden Fund

This fund is for the renovation of Good Shepherd Center’s student courtyard as a memorial to Sr. Mary Rosaria Baxter, a Sister devoted to Good Shepherd Center and its mission, as well as other beloved friends of our Center. We believe there can be no better tribute to those that have supported our mission than to dedicate a healing garden for our students in their memory.

Good Shepherd Wish List

Both the Center and the School maintain a Wish List for items that enhance our programs. Caring for our children requires a lot of love, money, and supplies. Click here to find out how you can support our Wish List.

Be A Cheerleader! Sponsorship

In celebration of our 40th Anniversary in our Baltimore County, Maryland location, the Center totally renovated its expansive gym with murals, a new floor, scoreboard and skylights.  The renovation included the addition of 2,000 cheering Good Shepherd Center supporters on the gym walls.  We invite you to adopt one of these “cheerleaders.”  Click here to learn more!

Please remember that many employers sponsor Corporate Matching Gift Programs and will match any charitable contributions that their employees make.  Your gift to Good Shepherd Center may double or possibly triple!  Some companies also match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Obtain a matching gift form and program guidelines from your human resources office.

Planned Giving

Is a set of ways a donor can leave money/assets to Good Shepherd Center at his/her death; or a way to invest money so that the donor receives benefits during his/her life and then bequeaths the remaining funds to the Good Shepherd Center. Click here to learn more.

Good Shepherd Center is a 501(c)3 organization as classified by the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions are tax-deductible to the limits allowed by law for non-profit donations.
