Good Shepherd School
Good Shepherd School is a self-contained educational facility located within Good Shepherd Center. The school is approved by the Maryland State Board of Education as a non-public Type I full day, partial day and residential Special Education Program and as a non-public Type I General Education Program for students in elementary school (grade 8) and secondary school (grades 9 through 12). In addition, Good Shepherd School is approved as a GED TESTS Preparation Program.
Good Shepherd School is organized to provide a holistic approach by integrating an Individualized Educational Plan with the therapeutic goals for each student. Assignment to classes is based upon assessed needs. Individual Educational Plans or 504 Plans are a necessary part of the education program for students requiring special education services.
Good Shepherd School’s Occupational Preparation Program is individualized, market-based and employs a wraparound approach. Each student is assessed for specific strengths, interests and needs. With the help of an educator and a therapist, a specific program is created to provide the student with the skills necessary to be successful in the workplace and the community.
